Certifying and coding COVID 19 as cause of death : Accurate and standardized data collection and reporting is essential for monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and increase the knowledge of this new disease. WHO has assigned emergency codes for confirmed and suspected cases of COVID-19. In addition, international guidelines to standardize the coding and classification of causes of death due to COVID-19 was released. PAHO hold a Webinar (June 18Th 2020) to provide and overview of these international recommendations, the main aspects for correcting filling of death certificate and selected examples of certification of deaths due to COVID-19.
