The Government of Reconciliation and National Unity (GRUN) of Nicaragua, through Law 774 – Law on Natural Medicine, Complementary Therapies, and Natural Products – promotes the institutionalization, regulation, and protection of the collective and individual practice of natural medicine and complementary therapies. The Institute of Natural Medicine and Complementary Therapies (IMNTC) has trained over 21,000 professionals and integrated 315 clinics into the national public health network. These clinics have provided more than 1.8 million free consultations since 2015. The IMNTC also coordinates the production, distribution, and commercialization of natural products, promotes research on medicinal plants, and supports integrative health care by combining traditional and biomedical approaches to improve community health and wellbeing.
