This infographic presents the integration of Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicines (TCIM) in Ecuador's National Health System. Ecuador officially recognizes three medical systems: conventional medicine, ancestral-traditional medicine, and alternative/complementary medicine. Public health policy supports intercultural dialogue, integration, and respect for indigenous knowledge. Key components include ancestral-traditional practices from Indigenous, Afro-Ecuadorian, and Montubio peoples; inclusion of acupuncture, homeopathy, and moxibustion; and exclusion of integrative medicine as a category. Results of implementation include 1,442 ancestral midwives working with public health services, mapping of 2,695 traditional knowledge holders, medicinal gardens in 72% of health centers, culturally adapted delivery rooms, and national regulation for alternative medicine practices.
