This infographic presents the integration of Natural and Traditional Medicine (NTM) as a medical specialty within the Cuban National Health System (NHS). Recognized since 1997 with an official national program, NTM includes acupuncture, phytotherapy, homeopathy, apitherapy, traditional exercises, Ayurveda, and more. It is integrated across all levels of the NHS, particularly in primary care, and was incorporated into Cuba’s COVID-19 response. The infographic also highlights the production and use of 105 natural products, the inclusion of NTM in medical education, the availability of a postgraduate specialization, and the existence of 51 research projects and 11 clinical trials related to NTM. The political, legal, and scientific support is backed by regulations from CECMED and various ministries.
