Integration of Complementary Medicine in the Public Health System of Chile

This infographic summarizes the integration of Complementary Medicine (CM) into Chile’s Public Health System between 2018 and 2022. It reports 620,869 individual care services with CM, along with 125,443 group and community care services. The majority of these services were provided by complementary therapists (48.20%), psychologists, physicians, and physiotherapists. Mental health was the leading area of care, followed by morbidity referrals and spontaneous consultations. During the COVID-19 pandemic (2020–2022), 34,243 remote CM services were recorded. Additionally, 427 health workers completed CM training in 2017. The infographic also includes key data visualizations on service distribution, types of care, and professional participation.
