Coleção: GTMSummit - The First WHO Traditional Medicine Global SummitThe field of traditional Malay medicine has long played an essential role in healthcare, encompassing treatment, material preparation, and cultivation of medicinal plants. To preserve this heritage, Phase 3 of the documentation project (February 2020 - April 2022) continues efforts from Phases 1 and 2. This phase aimed to expand the collection of medicinal plant specimens and publish a book on Malay Traditional Knowledge (TK). Through collaboration with Malay Traditional Practitioners (MTPs), 9 practitioners were documented, resulting in 219 herbarium specimens, identification of 131 plant species, and germplasm conservation at the FRIM Ethnobotanical Garden. Outreach programs and data integration into BRAHMS and MyTKDL databases were achieved, contributing to national and international biodiversity commitments despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
