To support the integration of traditional and complementary medicine (TCM) into Peru’s national health system, the Instituto Nacional de Salud established research priorities for 2022–2026. Approved by Resolución Jefatural N°231-2022-J-OPE/INS, the initiative uses a participatory and systematic approach to ensure efficient resource use and impactful research. The priorities span five strategic areas: integration into the health system, evaluation of safety and effectiveness, development of human resources, intercultural health, and reducing health inequities through a social determinants lens.
