In Guatemala, the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (MSPAS) promotes traditional medicine by organizing regional events to establish medicinal and nutritious plant gardens. These efforts support the National Policy for Midwives of the Four Peoples (Maya, Garífuna, Xinka, and Mestizo/Ladino) under the 2021–2025 Action Plan. Events engage midwives, traditional therapists, community organizations, and health personnel to foster intercultural collaboration and honor ancestral health knowledge in the public health system.
