Thailand’s National List of Essential Herbal Medicines is a dedicated part of the National List of Essential Medicines (NLEM), created to integrate traditional medicine into the national healthcare system. It ensures free access to approved herbal treatments under the country’s three major public health schemes (CSMBS, SSS, UCS). The list includes three categories: basic herbal medicines (prescribed by all medical professionals), specialized herbal medicines (prescribed by certified traditional medicine practitioners), and exclusive herbal medicines (with limited scientific evidence, used under special government projects).
