Four medications from the Cameroonian pharmacopoeia were approved by the Ministry of Health on July 8, 2021, to support treatments against COVID-19, although they are not considered complete therapies. This approval reflects a recognition of local knowledge but has drawn criticism for not fully valuing their therapeutic potential. Traditional medicine continues to gain ground in Cameroon, with an increase in the trade of natural products in cities.
