Objective: The aims of the society: to improve knowledge of the childhood malignant and paramalignant diseases, their nature and their management; to improve the welfare of children with these illnesses and their families; to maintain the bonds of friendship between members and to foster such bonds with all people working in the field of paediatric oncology; to further scientific exchange among them; to foster collaboration between members and with other organisations with similar aims; to assist in all endeavours relating to the field of paediatric oncology, including the exchange and diffusion of information and ideas relative to childhood neoplastic diseases, and the training of health care professionals in laboratory and clinical research with an emphasis on the total care of patients with neoplastic diseases.
