The American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM) is a specialty board recognized by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). ACLAM is also the certifying organization for laboratory animal medicine, which is a recognized specialty within the veterinary medical profession. Since 1957, ACLAM has worked to provide and encourage education, training, and research in laboratory animal medicine and encourage standards of training and experience for veterinarians involved with the care and health of laboratory animals.
