The Society's primary goal is to promote the exchange of information among researchers, and is devoted to education about the latest advances in brain research, and to raising awareness of the need to make neuroscience research a funding priority. For these reasons, the Society produces a variety of publications, and works closely with other scientific societies, and disease advocacy organizations.
