Vaccination Week in the Americas 2016

From 23 to 30 April will be held the Vaccination Week in the Americas (VWA) and the World Immunization Week (SMI) in 2016, with the theme “Let the gold! To vaccinate”.

The SVA is an extraordinary effort led by the countries and territories of the Americas to promote equity and access to vaccination. The activities of SVA strengthen national immunization programs, reaching populations with poor access to regular health services, such as those living in urban peripheries, rural areas and border and in indigenous communities. SVA is the 14 ° campaign led by the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization (PAHO / WHO), with the support of partners such as the Canadian International Development Agency, the Spanish International Cooperation Agency, UNICEF, the Centre for Disease control and Prevention (CDC), the Foundation of the United Nations Shot @ Life and the GAVI Agency Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The date also marks the initiatives that are part of the World Immunization Week in various regions of the world, led by the World Health Organization.
