On August 12, the International Youth Day is celebrated, the date was established by the UN General Assembly in 1999 as a result of the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth in Lisbon. In Brazil, the date entered for the official calendar by Decree 10,515, of 2002. The celebration aims to give more visibility to the problems faced by our youth, such as low quality education, poor living conditions and disrespect for the rights citizen.
“Youth Civic Engagement” was the theme chosen for 2015 to promote civic engagement and youth participation in politics, economy and public life, so that they can be more aware of society living and its citizen role.
